Enjoying your own company, without feeling left out.

In this article you'll learn: The benefits of enjoying your own company.  How to enjoy your own company. The importance of being in your own company.       A man can be himself only so long as he is alone; and if he does not love solitude, he will not love freedom; for it is only when he is alone that he is free.  Arthur Schopenhauer There is no other company in the world I’ve found more pleasurable than my own. For no one else has ever been as accepting of me or as thoroughly entertained by my quirkiness. It is a sweet thing to like yourself.  Richelle E. Goodrich The greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to oneself.  Michel de Montaigne In this world, there are things you can only do alone, and things you can only do with somebody else. It’s important to combine the two in just the right amount.  Haruki Murakami Many people suffer from the fear of finding themselves alone, so they don’t find themselves at all.  Rollo May Many people find it hard to be by themsel

How to make a tough decision when you can't decide.

“ It does not take much strength to do things, but it requires a great deal of strength to decide what to do .” “We all make choices, but in the end our choices make us.” “If you always make the right decision, the safe decision, the one most people make, you will be the same as everyone else.” The hardest thing about the road not taken is that you never know where it might have led. Lisa Wingate Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life. Shannon L. Alder Every choice has a long afterlife of consequences. No one can know the eventual outcome of any decision. All you can do is make the best choice you can make at the moment. Cassandra Clare Life is about making choices. Every day we're faced with choices that will impact our lives in one way or the other. While some choices are easy, some are not so easy and there are times when we find ourselves in a tough spot where a decision ha

Being too nice, what's the price?

Image
Have you ever gotten the bitter end of things for being too nice? Has someone ever cut you out of traffic, or the supermarket line, embarrass you in public, or trifle with your emotions? Many of us are sincerely nice human beings, and we truly want to be good citizens of the world, but what is the cost of being too nice in a relationship,  at work, to a stranger?  "There are people who are going to expect you to always give in the extra mile, be the better one, be nice always. Those are not your people. Your people are the ones who will tell you to remove toxic individuals from your life, remove toxic friendships and relationships from your life, and break someone's car door window (and they'll help you do it too). Those are your people." C. JoyBell C. What's wrong with being too nice?🤔 These are commonly asked questions about being too nice: Is it weird to be too nice? Is being too nice toxic? Is being too nice a red flag? Why is being too nice a turn-off? Here&

Time moves fast, it waits for no one (Poem)

Hindsight mourned my life of yesterday,  Tears meandered like streams through dark, lonely valleys, Time's faithful hands, years behind me, Oh, how time flies, Wishful thinking of all that could have been, Time lingers no more,  Hindsight scourged my life of yesterday,  Forgetting not a wasted moment,  Or the opportunities I've slighted along the way,  Procrastination has gotten the best of me, They say better late than never,   But late is sometimes too late, Tomorrow's never a promise for us to keep, Time waits for no one.  Annette Kinglock-Murray  © 2022  All  Rights Reserved  Read more poems: Sometimes I play the fool

Sometimes I play the fool (Poem)

Sometimes I play the fool, Weighing their loyalty against mine, Truth, error, blatant lies! Let them think I'm crazy, Tenderhearted, unblinded eyes,  Ruminating their meaningless thoughts, In the midst of their madness, senses awake, Feigned emotions, like musty air escaping their lips, Another favor, A dire need, A treasure to their soul, A scorching flame in mine, Ever wanting more, Nothing to give, Let them call me crazy, Clown's in town, Deafening  silence, eagles eyes, The show must go on,  Play the fool to catch the fool, They call themselves wise. PS: Some people will love you as much as they can use you. Their loyalty ends where the benefits stop. Annette Kinglock-Murray  © 2022 All Rights Reserved  Other poems: As if I wasn't made to feel

How to become a better human.

Image
We live in a world where it seems only the fittest of the fittest survive on the journey of life. As the world evolves and things and times change, fast. It seems our world is slowly losing its humanity. We don't need to look far to see the horrible effects of greed,  hatred, selfishness, and war. You may be wondering how you can make the world a better place. You can begin by being a better human.  Not just to people you've known all your life, but those you haven't had much contact with. These are 10 ways through which you can become a better human.  1. Put love into action.  Treat others the way you'd want to be treated. The same way that you wouldn't want others to trample your feelings and treat you as though you mean nothing to them. Give the love that you'd want for yourself. Show others that you truly care for them. Don't say one thing and mean the other. 2. Celebrate other people's success. Be happy for others when they are progressing in life
