Stories of love, pain, mindfulness and healing (Haiku Poems).

What is Haiku? If you are unfamiliar with Haiku style poetry, it is a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five, traditionally evoking images of the natural world.   What is a syllable? It is  a unit of pronunciation having one vowel sound, with or without surrounding consonants, forming the whole or a part of a word; for example, there are two syllables in  water  (wa-ter) and three in  inferno (in-fer-no). A Haiku poem has a total of seventeen syllables. B elow I've captured five stories of love, pain, mindfulness, and healing using this amazing style of poetry.  1. God God gave me His love, I gave Him my whole heart back, It belongs to Him!     2.  Depression  Underneath the smile, There is a familiar face, Crying out for help! Photo: Fernando Cabra Pexels. 3. Us I remember when, Nothing could come between us, We were happier! 4. Nature Embracing nature, Somewhere peaceful, time alone, Sheer reminiscent. 5. Healing Time brought me healin

Heartbroken Poems

Heartbroken poem for husband and wife I’ve heard that the unlovable, Should be loved, But no one taught me how, I did the best that I could, Only to become the unloved, And those who should have Been my peace, my solace, My haven, Shredded my heart to pieces, Whatever is left of it, For my sanity must remain, I’ll give not my brokenness to be loved, I’ll go home to my maker, Let God place us in a cocoon, Maybe one day my love will morph, Into something beautiful, And whoever shall taste of my love, Will never feel unloved! From my Poetry  book  Flickering Flames  ************************************************************** Heartbroken poem for your girlfriend   Today, you need her, Like the drought when it cries For the rain. But she'll never come, The same way you never came. For all her sacrifices, You gave her drought. At last, she's finally at peace, And now you know, That was t

How I challenge myself from doing better to doing my best.

''Our greatest threat is our last success.'' Dr. Myles Munroe What do you do when life is finally treating you well? Do you say that this is it, and relax?   There's always more room for growth and improvement. If you become complacent when you're doing well, you'll never see the need to do better.  You'll never see the need to strive for your best. You'll never see a reason why you should give your all. ''Discipline is choosing between what you want now, and what you want most.'' Abraham Lincoln   How do you not allow yourself to become caught up in this beautiful moment of I'm doing well? How do you not get lost at this milestone? How do you emerge from your current wave of excitement? You must challenge yourself to do better than your last success. “Don't live the same day over and over again and call that a life. Life is about evolving mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.” ―  Germany Kent You must be willing to put i

Avoid repeating these 5 phrases if you don't want your dreams to die.

I read a quote by Tony Gaskins, "Build your dreams, or someone else will hire you to help build theirs.'' It couldn't get any more serious than this. The truth is, if you aren't building your dreams, you are building someone else's.  Many will say to you that they wanted to do this and that with their life, but they didn't get the opportunity, so they had to settle for whatever they are doing now. I'm quite familiar with situations where persons have accepted a part-time job to aid with their tuition fees. Only to end up making the job permanent and forget about their studies.  If you are going to pursue your true calling there are some things that you have to stop saying to yourself.  There are some phrases that you have to part ways with. They say life and death are in the power of the tongue and your thoughts become your actions.  If you create poison with your choice of words, they'll destroy your dreams. Below I'll share some common phr

Having the right people in your corner is one of the greatest blessings you could ever have in life.  Those who make you laugh! Those who find the time to listen. Those who are always willing to give a helping hand. Those who have your best interest at heart, whether you're related or not. Sadly, there are many times when we neglect those who care about us most and we take their sacrifices for granted.  The only persons who would go to the end of the earth for us. The only faces we know when we are sick. The only persons who we can count on whenever we are in need. We take them for granted. It's such a shame that sometimes we don't even give them a moment of our time. It's such a shame that we sometimes forget that they are the nucleus of our support system. It's such a shame that sometimes we are the source of their greatest pain. It's such a shame that we only talk about how important they were to us when the cruel hands of death take them away.  If you have

How to avoid unnecessary drama ! We've only got one life to live and once it's done, it's done. However long your time on earth shall last, be sure that you make the most of it. No one can live your life for you. It's yours to live to the fullest. The sooner you've come to realize this the more you'll do everything in your power to ensure that you're living your best life.  I've realized that my life is short and there are people and things that I'm never going to allow to shorten my life on earth or destroy my peace of mind. Below are ten things I did to protect my peace of mind. If you should ask me, I have no regrets and I will do them again. ''When you make peace with yourself, you make peace with the world.'' Maha Ghosananda   1. Pray more, worry less. No problem has ever been solved through worrying. You'll have to find one way or another to resolve whatever adversity that you're facing in life. There's a sol
